Quad3 was retained by Textron as part of a master plan of improvements to complete an environmental analysis of the production area, listing the hazardous material on site, including lead, asbestos, metals, petroleum and volatile materials. This facility has been in operation for over 100 years, originally as a sewing machine factory and later converted to aircraft engines in the 1920s. read more

Textron Lycoming Plant

As part of production, an area of the plant has been used as a wet metal stripping and coating operation with 35 process tanks utilized for metal stripping, metal washing, and chemical and electrostatic coating for various parts.  In addition, the facility also has its own wastewater treatment facility for the process wastewater generated.

Quad3 worked with Textron to develop a master plan for the coating operation.  This included initial mitigation of the environmental issues in the operation, with a phased closure and clean-up at that area for future use.  Finally, the renovation of current storage space into an area to be utilized for a plasma coating system was completed along with integration of that system into the existing production operation.

This project included renovation of approximately 30,000 SF from non-production to production use and includes all support utility systems, safety systems and environmental control systems, along with structural modifications to the existing building.
