The Poseidon Pools building was originally home to the Eberhard Pencil manufacturing company, built in the late 1950’s. The pencil operation moved out in the 1980’s and the property became a pool manufacturing and distribution company. Different forms of manufacturing occurred on the site over a period of nearly 50 years, creating many different environmental challenges prior to demolition.
With the environmental conditions mitigated and the building demolished, the Chamber and Quad3 civil engineers created a site development plan to maximize the area that could be used for industrial development. The driveway/access point of the property was relocated to a safer location away from the Crestwood Drive/Elmwood Road intersection. The former building site was designed to be a 13 acre “pad-ready” footprint that is “ready-to-go” for development. A new 8-acre pad was created on the eastern portion of the property at a higher elevation than the original building. The site is suitable for purchase by a developer or can be subdivided to accommodate two (2) new future users. The Chamber seeks to create hundreds of jobs and attract millions of dollars of investment with this dynamic project at the gateway of the Crestwood Industrial Park.
