Dedicated laboratory fume hoods were installed and are regulated by flow tracking to maintain positive or negative room pressurization. Specialized electrical and mechanical systems were designed uniquely for the research and development of the faculty. Special emphasis was put on the structural system in order to eliminate vibrations that could affect the sensitive laboratory equipment.
The building façade was developed to be a unique exterior, yet consistent with the existing science building and the majority of the other campus buildings.
Emphasis was also placed on specific telecommunications requirements including backbone fiber (multimode and single mode) and multi-conductor copper cabling as well as certain telecom layouts for each lab and teaching room.
