Textron Lycoming Plant

Quad3’s relationship with Lycoming Engines (Textron) began with our environmental group performing industrial hygiene and hazardous materials abatement over ten years ago. In the past eight years, our architectural division updated an existing master facility/campus plan and developed conceptual drawings for grant applications.  Once funding was secured, Lycoming Engines hired Quad3 to design and oversee the demolition of four major structures ranging in size from 20,000 SF to 175,000 SF.  All four structures were attached to buildings that had to remain in 24-hour operation during the demolition process.  This prerequisite by the owner required a design-build effort between Quad3’s designers, Lycoming Engines staff, and various contractors to re-route utilities, piping systems and re-establish the building envelopes.

Quad3 designed and provided oversight on a variety of building demolition and construction projects.  Many in-house disciplines were utilized to coordinate efforts on these structures, some of which dated back to the 1880’s.  Sustainable design concepts were utilized where possible to maximize the efficiency of the space.  Quad3 projects included rehabilitation of oil lubrication area, roof raising/reconstruction, installation of bridge crane, heat ventilation modifications, and ongoing structural analysis.
