Repair 34.5kV Utility Intertie Point

The new 34.5kV service included the construction of a 336.4MCM ACSR overhead line on existing steel towers from the existing CMP metering point to the Franklin Substation. A new steel tower was added to accommodate the transition to the new substation high side structure.

General site work included the expansion of the existing substation yard and ground grid, installation of equipment foundations, a transformer oil containment with oil-detection system and stormwater discharge pump, and duct and manhole systems.

A full complement of electrical studies were performed including short circuit, equipment sizing and arc flash hazard.
