138,000 – 24,940 Volt Substation

The new 138,000 – 24,940 volt substation has a top rating of 100 MVA. The 138KV substation high side consists of a 138KV terminal structure, two (2) 138KV circuit switchers, Delmarva’s 138KV metering, 138KV, 600 ampere isolating switches and 138KV lightning protection. The 138KV bus is arranged in a normally closed split bus arrangement.
Dual 30/40/50 MVA, OA/FA/FA, 55/65 C substation class transformers were installed. The substation is equipped with bus and transformer differential relaying as well as under / over voltage protection. All relays are solid state and are SCADA ready. A 125 VDC battery system with three phase fused secondary panelboards is being used. The relays, relay panels, DC system, AC station service and metering are all housed in a control building at the substation.
