Coal Street Park Improvements

The first phase consists of two basketball courts, a splash pad to replace what was once an Olympic-size outdoor swimming pool, a toddler-size playground, a much-needed public restroom building central to the Park, and an outdoor pavilion for picnicking and holding small concerts.  Additionally, various older sidewalks and steps were replaced with new and made ADA  compatible.

The second phase involved upgrading the regulation size softball field with new dugouts, infield improvements, safety fencing to prevent home-runs from entering the street, and new nighttime flood lighting.  This phase also included upgrading a large multipurpose field for soccer and football practice, and the construction of a 1-mile walking/exercise trail.
