This project involved the renovation and restoration of a very popular existing student housing complex. The existing three buildings date back to the 1930-40’s and show the mission and arts and crafts design influences of the day.
With extensive experience in historic refurbishment, Quad3 was asked to evaluate the current conditions and determine the renovations needed. We retained the unique decorative wooden mantels, picture and chair rails, and crown moldings, and selected interior finishes with an eye toward appropriateness of the period, durability and cost.
While Quad3 was not asked to achieve LEED certification, great care was taken to select materials that were not only sustainable but also locally manufactured. The selection of energy efficient building systems and environmentally sensitive processes has made a significant positive impact on the design and the occupants comfort.
